Testimonials

  • I’ve climbed with multiple guides from JHMG over the years, and every one was a solid partner and enjoyable companion for the day.   For me, hiring a guide for Red Rocks is a great way to leverage a trip to Las Vegas and get in some climbing when I don’t have a partner available.  It’s great to have a partner that has all the beta, so that I can just focus on the climbing, and not worry about the route finding.  I’ve been able to climb some big routes with JHMG, and always learn something from my guide.

  • If you want to climb safely with confidence and learn about WHAT you are actually doing and climbing…Pick JHMG.  Hands down the best guys for the job!  YEARS of experience and professionalism are very obvious from the moment you step inside the shop.  Nice guys, well trained and fun to climb with!

  • My experiences with JHMG have been uniformly outstanding.   Each guide that has worked with me over the years has taken a genuine interest in helping me advance my climbing.  The levels of professionalism, expertise, and interest in teaching among the guides I have worked with has been top-notch.

  • Thank you for taking us on the climb. It was such a blast! Being on the Grand was really neat and I hope to do more climbs like it. Thanks for teaching me many things!

    — Heather Berch, age 15 (recipient of Jim Ratz Memorial Scholarship)
  • Climbing The Grand with JHMG was one of the most incredible experiences in my already rich life.  I came into the trip a bit apprehensive about the climbing and exposure, but the training and guides not only made me feel safe and confident, they also taught me skills to improve future climbing experiences.  I expected crazy beautiful views and fun times and you guys delivered both along with an unexpected level of service, coaching, and camaraderie.  Keep up the great work and we’ll see you on future climbing and mountaineering trips.

  • I just wanted to thank you for setting us up with such unbelievable guides.  They were absolutely solid, professional and fun to be around.  We couldn’t have had better, nor better results.  That climb of the Grand is something I’ll never forget.  I will be back to climb Mt. Moran next.
