About Susan Purvis

Susan Purvis loves to suffer. Her claim to fame is working in the highest, coldest and hottest places on the planet. Her outdoor educational company, Crested Butte Outdoors (www.cboutdoors.com) was established in 1998 in Crested Butte, CO where she trained and deployed a search and rescue dog. She spent years working at an urgent care clinic, ski patrolling and ski guiding. Susan’s memoir, Go Find: My Journey to Find the Lost—and Myself is a best-selling and award-winning memoir.

Susan is a American Institute for Avalanche Research and Education lead instructor, professional American Avalanche Association and Explorers Club member and Wilderness EMT.
